Bad Parent of the Day Award...

Goes to.....US....on Tuesday night. I'm regrettably writing about a sad sad incident that happened in our home. My poor baby's fingers got burned on the stove. Before I write all about what happened I do want to say that I really try SO hard to prevent anything from happening to this poor boy. He loves to grab EVERYTHING, pull out anything out of drawers and has to explore every inch of our home. So knowing this I bought a baby gate to keep Preston out of our kitchen completely. But that didn't help tuesday...

Spencer had just gotten home and I was trying to fix dinner before Spencer had to leave to Cub Scouts that night. We hadn't really talked yet since he had been home so while I was cooking, Spencer was holding Preston in the kitchen while we were talking. Well I guess Spenc was standing a little too close to the stove and Preston as quick as he could leaned down and touched the hot stove. I was turned around at the sink and all I could hear was a scream and when I turned around he was crying... We ran his fingers under cold water and tried to keep ice on it but he refused to let us. We'd try to just make him let us but that lead to screaming. I gave him some baby Tylenol ( its a pain reliever...i was hoping it would help...i don't know if it did ). He then just cried...really hard...rolling himself on the floor, I'd try and hold him but he'd just get away and roll around then come back for a minute and wanted held. I think he was just trying to escape the pain. I can't tell you how HORRIBLE I felt...and I know Spencer was feeling the same. This went on for about an hour. When Spencer had left for Cub Scouts I just cried. I felt like I couldn't do anything to help him...I could see in his poor eyes he wanted me to make it better but I didn't know what to do. It was the worst feeling EVER. After that hour he seemed to feel a little better...Debbie dropped off some aloe vera plant and i rubbed that on it a million times. The rest of the night I held him and we watched some of his favorite shows until he was tired.

I couldn't really tell how bad it was that night because it hurt him for me to touch it and he'd pull away so quick that I couldn't look at it very well. Yesterday he seemed almost completely better but he still wouldnt let me look at it very good. But this morning he let me and this is what I saw...

The picture is weird but I had to adjust the lighting so that the blisters would show up better...his hand isn't this red. But he's got a blister on the tips of 3 fingers and his pointer finger has 2. And the creases in his fingers are red.

This is what it looks like without adjusting the light.

This is how he feels about it... I really can't even express how bad we feel. He is using that hand and those fingers completely though. He's acting like nothing is wrong with them today so I hope he isn't hurting anymore.

I had to add this picture cause its really cute. If I tell him to give hugs to his bear he will. haha.

Preston...Mommy and Daddy love you SO much. We are SO sorry for what happened. We won't let you get anywhere near that hot stove again. XOXO.

Choo Choo!...

Preston got this train set for his birthday in May but we've never gotten it out before. Its got a lot of smaller pieces and I just didn't think he was big enough to play with something like that. So yesterday I saw it in the closet and decided to open it up and see if he'd like it...

He REALLY likes it. Its fun to see him playing and getting excited about a new toy. I've been trying to get him to say Choo Choo and he almost has it haha. He'll play with it all good until his train falls off the track and then he'll get upset and destroy the tracks. After a few minutes he'll come and find me and take me to his room to fix it for him haha.

I've really tried to designate his room for most of his toys and we try and play a lot in there ( to help keep my house cleaner during the days haha )

Its Monday...

Do the weeks fly by SO fast for you like they do me? Geez I cant believe were starting a whole new week and by Friday it will be OCTOBER...are you kidding me? Well I'm always behind on Mondays....we always need food...we were out of bananas this morning and Preston just about had a melt down about it...he loves bananas and could eat one for every meal...its a MUST HAVE in our house. ( I found this pic on my camera...I didn't take it so I'm guessing Spencer did haha )

Look at these blue eyes...he's going to be a lady killer for sure

He puts on our shoes now haha

Okay I had to add some cute pics to the post...Anyways...did you watch the General Relief Society Broadcast this Saturday? It was soooo good. I cried and I got to watch it with my sister...it was wonderful. They talked a lot on the history of the church and how we really need to study about it and a lot on visiting teaching. I really do have a testimony of visiting teaching. I have had the most amazing sisters come and visit me...they are the whole reason I feel so welcome and loved in our new ward. Its hard to meet new people and I think I'm just one of those people who have an extra hard time putting myself out there but I have made some wonderful new friends and I love them all so much. President Monson also spoke and his words touched me. He spoke on being non judgmental...looks aren't everything and mostly on loving and accepting everyone. One of my favorite parts of his talk was this...

Mother Teresa, a Catholic nun who worked among the poor in India most of her life, spoke this profound truth: “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” The Savior has admonished, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” I ask: Can we love one another, as the Savior has commanded, if we judge each other? And I answer—with Mother Teresa—“No; we cannot.”

—President Thomas S. Monson

I of course have "judged" another but who am I to judge? I have numberless faults of my own...I love going to these meetings and leave spiritually fed and ready to make changes for the better in my own life. I am so grateful for this true church, a church who leads me in only doing good in the world.

Sweet Dreams...

Last night I had a HUGE headache that would just NOT go away...for hours and hours I just laid there giving myself a head massage, taking drugs and finally just laying in my room in the dark with my eyes closed. Finally at like 11 at night I realized it was gone...but now I couldn't sleep. I just stared at my baby monitor looking at my sweet baby sleeping. I kept thinking...Do I have pictures of Preston asleep in his crib at night? I don't think i do...So I jumped up and grabbed my camera. Isn't he sweet? He looks like hes having a good dream...hopefully hes playing with his mommy haha!

I probably would have taken a bazillion pictures last night but after this pictures flash went off he woke up a little...so i had to calm him down...say sorry...and get him all comfy again. I LOVE MY BABY. After I had taken my pictures I laid back down in bed, Spencer cuddled up to me as I stared into the monitor and fell asleep.

New Stuff and Ideas...

So lately I've had a ton of ideas that I want to accomplish that I never do...Making and selling things, redo some rooms in my house, loose weight....you know the SAME OLD STUFF! Stuff that I say I'm going to do and make plans to do it and then it just never gets done...Well before the year comes to an end...again...and my goals have not been reached I'm hoping to have at least crossed some off of my long list. I need to make room for some new goals right! So I've started getting healthier...kickboxing class is my new FAVORITE, not only does it kick my butt but I've never had so much fun working out.

I've also created an ETSY account and I'm going to start selling some of the things I've been making. I only have these 2 watches on there now but I'll be posted some more stuff soon.

I won this little cherry red bucket on another blog called 4 peas on a pod. It works perfectly in my guest bathroom holding Prestons toothbrush and toothpaste and my scentsy oils. While I'm showing you this bathroom I thought I'd show you a bigger picture of the bathroom and tell you my ideas of making it cuter and you can tell me what you think...

( Ignore that's its a bit dirty ) Okay so I want to paint the cabinets a dark rich brown and get some nice stainless steel knobs. I want to paint the walls in white and tan stripes across the entire bathroom and I'm still debating on whether to take the mirrors down and get a nice dark brown framed mirror instead. What are your thoughts and or some new ideas!? Please share :)

Okay so another question. I love these cute flower headbands everyone is wearing these days. I think they are adorable...I've bought some from whippy cake and I've even made some of my own  BUT every time I put it on I feel like I look like a little girl. I don't want to look young...do you think its just me? Because I see it on other people and i love it but i don't feel the same way when i see myself wearing it...what do you think?

And of course I had to add a picture of the cute boy who runs my household. He had the croup cough a few months ago and we went in and got a shot to take care of it and it went away but now he's coughing like 2-3 times a day with a cough that sounds just like croup again. I'm wondering if I should take him in to the doctor before it gets worse or if there are some home remedies I should try first. We've given him Emergen-C and his multi-vitamin and an extra vitamin C tablet. Any other thoughts or things you've tried that have worked?

Our week...

I've kinda been slacking on my blog lately...we've been busy this week. My sister had the week off of work so we've done a lot with her! We made some fabric flower headbands, more beaded watches, and more gift baskets for spencer's clients. I loved how everything turned out but I don't have any pictures of it, we had fun doing it though! Well after a long week of our schedule out of wack...Prestons naps have been thrown off. Sundays don't help at all and this was him this afternoon...

We were waiting for Spencer to come home and he fell fast asleep in my arms. This NEVER happens, he doesn't ever just let me hold him, so this was a treat and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed holding my baby and being able to just stare at him and just think about how much I am in love with my little boy. He is such a blessing...

San Tan Fun...

Yesterday we met up with Amanda and her cute kiddos to play at the San Tan Mall. They have a fun little water area and play area. Preston had a blast...most of the time. Its still a little hot to be outside but oh well! Here are some pictures of Preston having fun.

So this was the only picture I got of the 3 kids playing together but this is Rayce, Saylor, and Preston!

Preston is seriously adorable...I just LOVE him

A date at the Park...

This weekend was one of Spencer's friends birthdays and they all decided to do a guy lake trip. So therefore me and Preston had to do our own thing Friday night and pretty much all of Saturday during the day. But when Spencer was done with his thing we had a family date at the park across the street.

He loves to slide now...look how staticy his hair got haha

And of course he had to swing!

And yes we still love each other...in case you didn't know ;)

Our little family...doesn't Preston look so happy? haha seriously I think he's sick of the camera

Okay so funny/scary story...There was a huge open grass area next to the playground and Preston was running around in it. Well it dips down and he ran straight for it and I couldn't catch up to him fast enough and he ended up rolling half way down the hill! Scared me to death but once I caught up to him he was laughing SO HARD and getting himself up as fast as he could to climb the hill and fall back down again. He's seriously crazy...

Spencer chasing after Preston...story of our lives lately :)

Climbing up the hill like a little bear cub

And falling back down...haha he seriously makes us laugh 24/7. We just LOVE our Preston!
