Carving Pumpkins...

Last night, after dinner at the Coon's, we carved our pumpkin. I should probably say Spencer carved our pumpkin haha. It's funny how I get so crazy about traditions, like carving the pumpkin but it always ends up being Spencer who follows through for me and does it. That's what good husbands do right? Yup...I got a good one! ;)

Spencer was being funny and making crazy faces while I was trying to take a picture of him carving, this one was my favorite :)

Here's him trying to decide on a mouth...

Here is what Lylah was doing while we were carving...
Ya, football makes me fall asleep too :)

Me and Spenc...

After Spenc was done carving I went and got Preston and let him clean out the inside a little bit more. Carving pumpkins is not for little kids but they sure do love seeing them afterwords. Preston was soo excited about our pumpkin! He kept saying "yuck" after he'd touch the inside though haha.

And here is all of us with our pumpkin. I was so excited when I saw how this picture turned out. Preston has been so hard to take picture of lately, he just sticks his tongue out and runs away. But we got his real smile in this picture! And Lylah is looking at the camera and I don't look too fat! This is probably my favorite family picture that we have right now :)

Oh and I had to take a close up of Lylah. Two things I love right now...1. Baby Jeggings = serious cuteness and 2. Pair those with white fuzzy boots = ADORABLE"NESS". I love having a girl to play dress up with! And I love that they make fashionable clothes for babies!

Happy Halloween!!!! Can't wait to take Preston Trick or Treating tonight!

Ward Halloween Party...

Our ward is bomb when it comes to Halloween parties. We had 3 air up bounce houses, a walk through haunted house, booths for the kids, hay bails set up for pictures, trunk (chair) or treat, lots of yummy chili and hot dogs and lots of fun people to mingle with. My sister and her cute family came to the party with us and then Spencer's parents came a little later, it was a lot of fun. Originally just our kids were going to dress up but I had a ton of extra fabric left over from Lylah's costume that I just cut a hole in the middle and fringed the edges and made me the top and just found things in my house to finish it haha. And then Spencer borrowed cowboy stuff from his dad so we all matched and it actually turned out cute, especially for a last minute idea.

My cutest cowboys...Let me just say that Spenc is a sexy cowboy...I'm liking this look!

And yes my hubby is buff :)

Poor little Lylah was mad before we left but she ended up being pretty good while we were there :) she actually took a bottle i pumped which is a first so I was THRILLED!

This was my favorite picture of all of us

Here is the cutest hippie family ever - Justin, Corinne and Kamden! We love them and I'm so glad they came with us!

Me and my sweet baby girl! She looked sooo adorable and I'm soo happy with the way her dress and headband turned out!

Our cute kids with their Grandma and Grandpa Coon!

Us on the hay bails :)

I don't want to dress up again for Halloween but were excited to dress the kids up again and take Preston around trick or treating! The holidays get a lot funner with kids who start understanding and getting into it. Preston is at such a fun age...I LOVE it!

Cool Weather...

Yay it is starting to cool down!!! The weather has actually been sooo nice these last few days. We have all been wanting to spend a lot more time outside. We've been doing a lot of bike rides, park dates and going on walks. My sister let me borrow a baby carrier and Lylah loves it. It puts her to sleep actually and I love that I don't have to push a stupid double stroller. Gosh I hate double strollers. Has anyone found one they really like for a decent price? I really wish I could find something else.
Anyways here is Preston playing with some friends

Lylah loved being outside, she was kicking her feet all around and smiling and talking to mama

This was on our walk last night, Spencer didn't get home until late so we decided to walk around our neighborhood and look at all the Halloween decorations and pumpkins.

We LOVE the cooler weather! Now I just need to start shopping for cooler weather clothes...

2 kids...

I love having 2 kids. I love that I have one boy and one girl. I'm not sure how I'll feel in the future but 2 kids is good for me and I'm happy with just that. I love how Preston wants to be right next to Lylah when shes playing on the floor...not sure if I really like that fact that he almost and sometimes hurts her but I like the fact that he likes her. I hope these cute little kiddos always likes and loves one another. Who knows...they may just have eachother.

Chubs...

Boy do I love a chubby baby and lucky for me my sweet little girl is getting some chub! This isn't a surprise to me cause she eats REALLY well haha. You can see her chub better if shes nakey so I took some pictures of her last night before I put jammies on her.
I love rolly polly arms and thighs...

Me and Preston were getting her to smile at us last night...I got a little one on camera but she has starting smiling big and she has the cutest little dimples. I'm in love.

I wonder if she will get as chubby as Preston was...we will see!!!
Lylah also rolled over for the first time last night! Me and Spencer were there to witness it and I was really surprised. Shes 6 weeks old today and she rolled over a LOT sooner then Preston did. But she came out of the womb super strong. She has always held her head up really good and she likes doing tummy time, which Preston hated.

Pumpkin Patch 2011...

Last night we decided to take the kids to the pumpkin patch. We didn't want the crowds of a weekend and no other day worked with Spencer's schedule so it just had to be last night. Have I mentioned that nights just aren't that great for Lylah? She gets soo colicky at night and it just a sad mad girl. She pretty much hated the pumpkin patch. Hopefully she'll like it better next year. Preston on the other hand had a great time. They added a huge air jumpy thing that Preston and Spencer played on and he had a blast. Then they rode on the cow barrels...which he never would have gotten out if we didn't make him.

He also loved these bike things

Lylah started out asleep...for like 10 min...

And then turned into this the rest of the night...
Luckily we love her to death cause she is one heck of a screamer.

This picture was a little blurry but I liked it anyways.

And here is Preston in the pumpkins...this was the closest to a smile I could get but he still looks so handsome :).

Last night wasn't really what I had hoped for, hopefully next year turns out better. At least Preston had fun...that's really why we went anyways!

My funny boy...

Preston has been saying the funniest things lately and I just had to write them down so we won't ever forget what a funny 2 year old boy he is. He talks so much now and I love it. One of the things I love about Preston is that he is so quick to say sorry, thanks, and please. He is such a sweet polite little boy and it just melts my heart. Lately while I am getting ready Preston will come in and look at me and say "Mom, cute". He sure does know how to win someone over that's for sure :).
So when me and Spencer talk to each other he calls me "babe" a lot. Well Preston caught on and starting calling me "babe" too. I was in the kitchen making dinner and Preston was riding his train in there next to me and when he decided to leave the room he said " Bye Babe!" as he waved and grinned the biggest grin you ever saw. I decided to correct him and tell him I was mom and he would just smile and say "No babe". Haha I just love that boy.
One thing about Preston is that he does NOT like to be left behind. If me or Spencer leave and he can't go he just breaks down. And as soon as we come back he will tell us in the saddest voice ever that he "cry" and wants tons of sympathy. He's also been faking a lot of injury's lately to get some attention. This morning during breakfast I was holding Lylah and she kicked her foot out and it hit the table and she starting crying. So Preston pushed his chair out, lifted up his foot and kicked the table and then he'd act all sad. haha oh boy.
Every car is a "fast mustang car" and he is obsessed with "Biiiig Trucks". There is a documentary film on Monster trucks on Netflix and he watches that show everyday.
Lylah got some pink crocs at her baby shower and Preston thinks they are his shoes, they are actually his size and he loves them...even if they are pink ha.

And yes Preston pretty much lives in t-shirts and undies. He's potty trained here at home and has a hard time taking shorts off so we make it easier and he runs around in undies haha.
He loves his cousin Kam and asks about him everyday. This last weekend he asked about Cin and Kam and I told him they were out of town and he just cried. He wanted to "play kam mom" haha.
He also loves to play with his friends across the street, hunter and porter. He will go and look out our front window a million times a day and if they are out there he gets SO excited and comes and begs me to go out and play. I think its cute that he likes to play with others.
He also cant wait for his daddy to come home. He has a fake phone and I hear him talking to "dad" all the time. When I'm on the phone with Spenc, Preston will grab his phone and copy everything I say to him haha. He's sooo funny.
We just couldn't love our Preston anymore then we do already!

Blessing Bags...

In my post a couple days ago I talked about how I wanted to do more service and later that day I saw a pin on pinterest about "Blessing Bags". I LOVED the idea and thought it would be a perfect way to be prepared to help someone in need while I'm running errands. A blessing bag is a gallon zip lock baggie filled with things that a homeless person would need that you store in your car. For example your blessing bag could include:
  • Granola Bars
  • Fruit cups
  • Gum or mints
  • Cracker packs
  • Trail Mix
  • Jerky
  • Drink ( flat like a capri sun )
  • Deodorant
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Tylonel or Advil
  • Chapstick
  • Tissues
  • Comb
  • Soap
  • Anti bacterial wipes
  • Bandaids ( or I found little first aid kits for 1.00!)
  • Coins for a phone call or vending machine
  • And anything else you can think of!
This idea worked really well for me because here in the valley there are a lot of homeless people right off the freeways and this way I don't have to sit awkwardly in my car trying not to look at the person because I have nothing to give them. I don't believe in giving money because I don't want them to go and use it for drugs or something.

I had some little helpers help me make my kits :)

And here is a close up of what I put in my bags...

I'd love to hear of any ideas that you guys are doing...I need more ideas. I'm one of those people who aren't as good at thinking up ideas but I'm good at copying them haha! So share if you have any!!!

Ward Baby Shower...

Before I had left to Utah my beehives had planned a ward baby shower for me, but I ended up leaving sooner then planned and it had to be canceled. Well they still wanted to do it when I got back and we had the party last night. It was SO fun to see all the girls and leaders again and visit with the women in our ward. Not to mention all the ADORABLE things they got for Lylah. I appreciate it SO much! I can't tell you how thankful I am for our ward.

This was Lylah before her party....I was worried she would have taken the saying "its my party and ill cry if i want to" seriously. Oh and by the way, her cutest little dress was given to me by my friend Brandi, isn't it seriously the cutest thing!? She got SO many compliments :).

And here is a little better picture of her outfit...

Here are me and Lylah with all the Beehives and Mia Maids...aren't these girls just the cutest!?

I looked over and some of the girls had their phones out taking pics of Lylah and I thought it was cute so I took a picture of them!

And here we are with the YW leaders...

Luckily Lylah was sweet at her party and just slept...

We loved the party and love who we partied with. Thank You girls and leaders SO MUCH. I miss YW's SOOOO much already!!!

RS Night...

So I actually ventured out of my house last night and went to a Relief Society night with some of my neighbors. It has seriously been a long while since I have gone to one of those and I am really glad I went. I got to meet a few new ladies that I haven't met yet and I was really inspired to go out and serve as well. I really wanted to share what inspired me so I can come back and read it again on days that I am lazy. Allison Trotter talked about how she never understood why she was born in her circumstances ( which are good ) and others where born in hard circumstances ( such as those in Africa who have nothing ). She also talked about how she could be a hobbit and be quite happy staying in her house all day and clean and take care of her children. Which is just like me, and IS me most days. But she heard this quote (that shes heard many times) but it meant something this time. "Those who have been given much, much is expected." After she read that I had tears in my eyes. I am one of those who has been given much, VERY much. I was born into an incredible family that loved me and taught me so much. I now have a beautiful healthy family that I love more then I can even say. My husband loves me, takes care of me and is my best friend. I have a good education and were able to continue my husbands education. We are lucky enough to own our own house and have good reliable vehicles. My children are beautiful, happy and healthy. Seriously, I have been so lucky. But because I am, there is more expected of me. I shouldn't stay home all day, I need to be out there giving more service to others. So that is my new goal, not waiting for service opportunities to come to me, I need to go out and find them myself.

I took Lylah with me last night and she slept the whole time and speaking of sleeping I took a super cute picture of her sleeping yesterday morning...

She just looks SO pretty and peaceful and I love how her cute little feet are sticking out of the blanket. I seriously can't tell you how much I love this little girl.

Naughty...

Okay So before I tell this story I have to explain that I am exhausted in the morning and my sweetest hubby lets me sleep in with Lylah and will take care of Preston. Well this last weekend he went on a biking trip with his friends and so Saturday morning I had no one to help me. That friday Preston took a really late nap and wouldn't go to sleep that night until midnight and Lylah had a bad night and I was up and down with her. So by morning I was completely out of it and didn't even know when Preston got up. When I finally "came to" I saw that Preston had left the room ( he slept with me ) and it was completely quiet. I jumped up and found him in the kitchen with my fabric scissors! He was telling me "cut" "i cut mom", frantically I looked at his hair ( it looked normal ) then he pointed to my curtains that cover my sliding glass door. He had cut holes ALL over them! After I shrieked he knew he had done something wrong and kept saying " sorry mom". I am SO sad about it but I can't blame him entirely. I have been cutting fabric out for Lylah's bedding and her costume and I left my sewing box on the table in Prestons reach. I should have known he could open the box up easily to find those scissors. I'm just so glad he cut the curtains and didn't hurt himself!

He's standing next to one of the bigger holes...there's little holes everywhere but I couldn't get a picture that showed it very well. I really don't want to remake these curtains! So for now they just stay tied back and you can't really tell. It is so much harder to have a cute house when you have a 2 year old haha!!!

Lylahs Church Debut...

We took Lylah to church for her first time yesterday. We ended up only staying for sacrament but she did really well and everyone oooed and ahhhed over her. Its super fun to have a super cute baby haha. It was kinda sad not being able to go to YW's...I was looking forward to going back the whole time I was in Utah and then I was released right before I got back. Total BUMMER. I miss those girls and the leaders a TON already. Well we tried to take a picture of Lylah in her sunday dress and these were the pics we got ha...

The first one I blinked so I cropped myself out haha but I was excited about her outfit so I have to explain...I saw this dress at baby gap while i was in Utah and really wanted it but it was like 45 dollars and there is no way i would pay that for a tiny dress. Anyways my sister and I went back when they were having their big Columbus day sale and I got it for 12 bucks! I was sooo excited! And then I already had the pink crochet cardigan from my Mother in law. She looked adorable :).

And here is one with me and Preston too. haha preston was already changed out of his Sunday clothes and Lylah was mad...great pic I know haha!

We love Sundays!

One Month!...

I really cannot believe I had my baby one month ago already! I seriously can't express how fast this month has gone. It kind of breaks my heart to think about her growing so fast but I know from experience how fun it is to see them grow too. I found these cute little stickers for each month that you stick on a onesie, and you can see how big they are getting each month. So we had a little photo shoot in our backyard this morning :).

And Big brother Preston had to be part of all the action as well! Don't you love his outfit!? Undies, T-shirt, and boots ( they aren't even his and they are 2 different sizes ).

And I just love this last picture...

Okay so here are some of Lylahs stats that I took myself this morning so they may not be totally accurate but oh well. She'll have a 2 month appt next month so we'll get accurate info then!

I measured her with my measuring tape and she looks like she is 21 inches long!

I weighed myself on the scale and then i weighed me with her and subtracted the difference. It says she weighs 10.4 pounds! That just sounded big to me so I'm not sure if I believe it!

Some of my favorite things about Lylah right now are all her smiles while she sleeps. She really must have good dreams.

She thinks she has to eat every time she wakes up.

When she's awake she HAS to be held or she is pretty upset.

She acts like her belly hurts her a lot, not sure if its colic or if its something I'm eating so we've been switching and trying new things with my diet. Not fun haha!

She's loves to cuddle and I LOVE to cuddle with her!

Her eyes have some specks of Blue so pretty sure she'll have pretty blue eyes!

Her hair is still dark...but that could totally still change!

Preston always says she is "toot" (cute) and is getting better at saying her name. First is was "Sessa" haha not sure where that came from, maybe sister? But he has a hard time with "L's" but now its "Lala" without a strong L haha. He's really cute with her and likes to hold her ( with mommys help of course ).

And Me and Spenc just think she is perfect!
