Prestons first tube ride!

I can't get over how cute he looks out there!
Oh wow our Saturday was busy. It was fun but definitely packed with a ton of things to do. Saturday morning Spenc had yard work and a service project to do and me and Preston had to have our house spotless so the "bug guy" could spray. As soon as Spenc got home I ran to the grocery store and picked up pizza. When I got home Spencers friends Taylor and Zach were there along with Taylors cute kiddos. Taylor and Zach put in my ( old but new to me ) dishwasher and garbage disposal! I seriously can't thank them enough...I SOOO appreciate it! Living without a dishwasher is seriously the pits haha. As soon as they were done we rushed over to Canyon Lake. I was hoping to get some sun but we didn't really get there in time for that but we ended up having a great time. Preston had his first experience riding on the tube and he LOVED it. ( He did ride it once last year for like 2 seconds...he was so sick that trip and so we don't count it haha ).

Getting ready to go!

He was saying Whoa here haha

Totally lovin it...

Pointing to mama :)

Spenc of course wakeboarded...I thought he did awesome but he says it wasn't a good wakeboarding day.

I tried uploading a clip but dumb blogger wont let me...plus I didn't really get too many good shots, its hard to try and take pictures and watch Preston at the same time haha. Next time I'll try and be better!

After Spenc and Dan were done wakeboarding, Uncle Dan and Preston went swimming. Water was freezing but Preston loved it anyway and kept wanting to get back in. Funny boy! He loves his Uncle Dan!

Preston watching Danny jump in the water...Preston would have jumped in too if we would have let him!

You can tell how cold the water is by their faces haha. Silly boys!

Life...

  • My dishwasher broke about 2 weeks ago...washing every dish by hand is getting old :( hopefully we'll get one soon!
  • Our garbage disposal just broke a couple of days ago and the water barely drains on that side...making doing the dishes seriously unbearable!
  • The fan in Preston's room broke...well the light broke, the fan still works but the light is what we need the most.
  • My tires on my car are sooo bald...one of the tires is even making a weird sound. Lovely.

Those are just some of the things we are dealing with over here lately. I hate when dumb things break...and then something else breaks and before you know it we have a list as far as china! But some of the good things around here are...
  • Spencer is done with this semester today! So far we know he finished 2 classes with A's and I'm pretty positive the other 2 classes with be A's too. He's seriously so smart!
  • Spencer qualifies for grant money every year but this year he also got an extra $3000.00 because of his awesome grades from ASU. Thats $7000.00 in free tuition just because he's awesome :)!
  • Preston is learning some new words and getting funnier every day. He knows the word baby now and calls his cousin Kam the baby, we also tell him that mommy has a baby in her tummy. Now he lifts up his shirt and daddys shirt saying baby. Haha we tried telling him that only mommy does but I think we are just confusing him haha. He also says bye to everyone, including our cashiers at stores haha. It's cute!
  • My sister in law Alyssa came over yesterday and helped me paint my headboard! It's cute! Pictures to come!
  • My family is coming up next weekend! Boys are going to black river and us girls are going to have fun here...cant wait!

I took these pics a few weeks ago and never posted...Preston and dada having fun at the park. So glad that we'll have a few weeks ( before summer school starts ) that we can hang out with Spenc when he gets home from work. :)

#8- The little accessories...

You know, veil? shoes? jewelry? what did your bridesmaids wear?

Okay so I'm totally annoyed right now...I cannot find my wedding book of pictures ANYWHERE! I didn't have a photographer for the receptions, people just took some and gave them to me so I only have prints and they are all in that book. So I don't have any pictures of my bridesmaids right now....BLAH! They were my 2 sisters and my 2 sister-in-laws (at that time). They wore matching black skirts and button up white shirts with green sashes and green headbands. They were adorable :). Hopefully I'll find that book soon and I'll post a picture later.

Okay so the details on me...Spencer is not the tallest guy and he didn't want me wearing heels and looking taller then him in all our pics so I ended up wearing comfy white flip flops haha. My dress was long and you couldn't see my shoes anyway...it was worth it, with all that standing my feet didn't hurt by the end of the day :).

This shows my veil pretty well...it was really pretty!

Okay so I couldn't find a close up of my jewelry but it was small with crystals...they went with my dress perfectly.

Mothers Day...

I really felt special yesterday...I'm such a lucky girl to have my 2 boys in my life. I think the word to describe how I felt most of the day would be grateful. How grateful I am that I "get" to be a mom. Sometimes I feel inadequate and pray that I am being what my child(ren) need me to be. Being a mom is such a privilege, a privilege that goes by so quickly. In Relief Society yesterday, we had all the young women in there as well ( that's why I was able to be there ) they talked about how quickly time passes with our little ones. My son is only 2 years old but I couldn't help but cry...these have been the fastest 2 years of my life. I think they have also been the happiest, hardest and I don't think I have ever learned so much. Its crazy how much a sweet little spirit can teach and change your life for the better. Children are amazing. This quote from Anna Quindlen ended our meeting and I've thought about it ever since.

"There is one picture of the three of them, sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages 6, 4 and 1. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night.
I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less."

I think what scares me the most is my memory is bad as it is. I SO don't want to forget these days, these moments when my children are so sweet and innocent, little with chubby fingers and toes. I don't want to forget Preston at 2 years old. When he's tired and wants to watch a movie, he likes to cuddle right next to me and puts my face right next to his and holds my cheek with his sweet little hand. I don't want to forget how excited he is to see me in the morning giving me hugs and kisses.  I love that he knows about what time Spenc should be home and he asks me over and over where dada is...he LOVES his dada. I don't want to forget that we had to distract Preston by having him throw a leaf at dada while he took the picture above ( only way we could get him to smile and look at the camera). I really hope that I can treasure the doing a little more, because even when the doing seems endless and daunting, I really would choose this over doing anything else in the world.  I LOVE being a mom. And I can't wait to be a mom again to my sweet little angel on the way.

I also wanted to thank my Mother, I really couldn't have picked anyone better. I got so lucky to have her in my life - you are one of my very best friends and I can't tell you how much i love and adore you. You have taught me so much, have always been there and I could never thank you enough.

My sweet Mother-in-Law. She raised the perfect guy for me. And I really can't thank her enough for it. She is full of strength and knows how to stand up for what is right, I have really learned a thing or two from her.

There are so many mothers that I look up to, My sister and sister-in-law, children or not they are amazing and such examples. My Aunts, friends, and ward members that I associate with are all such examples of strength, never giving up and love. I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have each of these women in my life.

Happy Mothers Day...

Bump Watch - 20 Weeks!...

I'm half way there and it feels great :). On Tuesday we had an ultrasound appt. and found out we are having a sweet little GIRL! I really couldn't be happier...I'm a girlie girl and I am going to have TONS of fun playing dress up and oh the crafts I will be making...SO FUN! It's funny because it really would have been a lot easier for us to have a boy right now...I mean its almost like starting over with all the stuff we are going to have to buy but it seems like the easiest ways are not what me and spenc have in store for us. Though things seem hard at first, I have to admit that things ALWAYS work out for us. And no matter what our 3rd baby will be easy cause we will have lots of boy and girl stuff! I am grateful to know that I will at least have 1 boy and 1 girl. I have always said that I HAVE to have at least one of each. They are both so fun in there own ways and I had to experience having each so I am beyond excited to start life with a sweet little girl too.

So I know we've only known a few days but I have been on a name hunt ever since and girl names are HARD! I really didn't think we'd have such a hard time agreeing or even finding some we liked. I really don't want a name that is really common but I don't want a name that is too different either. Something like Preston I guess...there's not a ton of them but there are definitely Preston's out there. I'm a little crazy about things sometimes and when I have something on my mind it doesn't leave until I have an answer...so this will probably bother me until we've reached a decision. So please if you have any suggestions or have heard something cute PLEASE share :).

I've also been drooling over bedroom choices...I can't seem to decide what I want to do! There are sooo many fun choices out there for girls! I came to the conclusion though that I want to make her bedding...i spent quite a bit on Preston's bedding and i really think I could make my own for cheaper and get the colors and design I really want.

Okay wow I really could go on and on about all the ideas and girlie stuff I have rolling around in my head but I will stop for now and show you a picture of how cute she is already :)!
She's got her little hand by her mouth...and I was just watching the little video we got and it looks like shes sucking her thumb haha. Look...

Telling you I am obsessed with her all ready is an understatement. I am SO EXCITED!

And this is me today...sucking in is not really an option anymore. I think I'm still in the "fat" stage where you still can't tell I'm prego...more just fat. I started going to the gym about 4 or 5 times a week and doing the elptical for an hour and I can tell its working. I didn't gain any weight this appt :). But with Prestons birthday this week I haven't yet been to the gym since monday...I'm going today though!

Cake...

So Monday night we had the Coons come over for cake and ice cream. I had decided to make the cake myself, it was the first homemade cake and frosting I had ever made. It turned out pretty dang good if you ask me. I used this Chocolate Cake recipe and this Frosting recipe.

I'm obviously not a cake decorator haha! But Preston likes blue so it's a blue cake haha I think it tasted better then it looked :).

When everyone got there we opened presents! He got some really fun stuff :). The little stuffed tiger is the tiger he picked from the zoo and he also got a "Cars" backpack pillow and a swim pool from us. He got some nerf guns and a really awesome wagon from Grandma and Grandpa. And Uncle Danny and Aunt Alyssa got him a "Cars" slip and slide. We are gonna have fun in our backyard!

Then we had cake! Preston blew out his candles I think 4 times...he had a lot of wishes to wish I guess haha! It was a fun night and he's such a lucky boy to have so many who love him. I am so grateful to have 2 supportive families.

We LOVE you Preston!!! Happy Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my 2 year old!

Dear Preston,

Mommy and Daddy LOVE you sooooo much. You are such a fun and entertaining boy to be around. Your smile and laugh are contagious and you definitely know how to get the attention out of a room full of people. You are so smart and know exactly what me and daddy are talking about or what we ask of you. I love how sweet you are...giving me hugs and kisses everyday. I seriously don't know what life would be like if I wasn't your mommy. You make my days bright and full of fun. I hope you understood that yesterday was your birthday and that you felt super special, your my favorite boy! LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU!
Love, Mommy and Daddy

Yesterday my baby turned 2...yes 2! I can't believe how big this boy is getting. It is so fun to watch him grow and learn new things but it scares me how fast time is going...I want this boy to stay little! Well we woke up and had blueberry waffles and then got ready to go to the zoo with Aunt Corinne and cousin Kamden! Preston LOVES animals, especially ones that go "Roar" or "Ruff". There wasn't much of either of that but he still had a blast. We ended up going to the Phoenix zoo since it is much closer but again I always leave disappointed. The lion and tigers were sleeping in a ditch where you couldn't see them well and the Rhino wasn't there and so on. It seems like the animals there are lazy and hate life...they are no fun! But they do have this new water area for little kids to play in. I heard about it and remembered Preston's swimming suit so we played there for a while and Preston LOVED it. I loved it too since there was no deep part and I could let him run free and play. We did have a little accident while we were there though, we were looking at the elephants when Preston spotted some birds in the trees. What boy could resist chasing after birds? Not this one...so he ran super fast over to the birds. On his way the road dipped down and he lost balance resulting in his face hitting the cement ground. His little nose and under his nose above his lip got scraped up and his lip is big. Poor baby! We hit the carousel after that and then I let Preston pick something out at the gift shop!

Again Preston hated taking pics so this is the best we got haha. He did like this gorilla for some reason...

You can see that his lip and above his lip is all red in this pic. :(

Tomorrow I'll post about our "Coon" party that we had yesterday night! Right now I gotta get ready to go to my ultrasound appt! We get to see if baby #2 is a boy or girl :) We are super excited!
