The Little Things....

Funny how the littlest things are the most fun. Last night I was trying to figure out last minute christmas stuff and i walked in the living room to find Preston having a blast sittin in his own chair. He had a poop explosion and thats why he has no clothes on and i dont know why we left his shoes on haha but i like it. You can see all his chubs and its sooo cute! This boy really brings sooo much joy into our lives, its crazy how much your life changes when having a baby but its all for the better. I absolutely LOVE being a mommy and spencer LOVES being a daddy.

The Blossom on the Vine!

I decided to make a craft blog called the blossom on the vine. Ill be doing things with scrapbooking, sewing, refinishing and anything I can get my hands into. My sister Corinne is going to eventually get in it with me and its just something to do for fun. Id really like for those of you who do try some of the stuff we do, to share how it turned out and how to make it better. Were all learning and since we cant be doing crafts together all the time it will be fun to talk and share it through a blog. :) We are in the midst of creating an etsy account so if you like some of the stuff we do and dont want to make it yourself you can get it there. Im trying to update it as much as i can...i am a busy mom so i do my best. But have fun with it and thanks for taking a peek! Lately it seems like all i hear about are these horrible accidents happening to young husbands and fathers. Maybe Im just now listening and actually caring about whats going on in this world and the people around me but its hit me hard. I honestly cant imagine a world with spencer not in it. Im so honestly grateful to have a knowledge of the great and everlasting atonement. That I know that this life is just a trial and its temporary. I know that if anything happened to my sweet husband, myself, or my children that I will still forever have them. I know that the Lord has a plan for all of us and hes right beside us when times are tough. We are never alone. I love my husband with everything i have. I love this wonderful Gospel that has played a huge roll on my my life and my happiness. I love my sweet little boy....I love being a wife and a mother. I love everything about my little life and I wouldnt change a thing.

I wanted to share a couple of the heartbreaking stories of familys my heart is acheing for. Please keep these familys in your prayers and remember how much our Heavenly Father has given you and how many sweet blessings are surrounding you. He loves you.

Sunday is Funday

Last sunday we were all too sick to go to church so we didnt get the message when our stake conference was going to be so today we got ready and drove to church and no one was there...just our luck it was today! Well we decided that we would drive out to canyon lake, take our scriptures and an ensign and spend some time outside and enjoy the weather while we read. The lake is beautiful but it was kinda windy and a little chilly. I really think Preston is teething haha Ive said that quite a bit and still no teeth but he has been just a little grump lately so im really thinking he is. We love him tons anyways haha. Yesterday night we tried going to a Drive-in movie and it was alot of fun. I didnt have to worry about Preston being nice and we could talk and kiss haha we saw The Blind Side and it was really a great movie. I have to say that I was very impressed with Spenc last night...we had planned to go to this movie and to the mexican food place earlier but his friends called and wanted him to hang out so he went over there but made sure to go and eat with me and go to the movie...he never even asked if he could pull an all nighter with them. Im sure this sounds little but to me it was huge. I love feeling like he wants to spend time with me...that i am the most important. Im always taking for granted those little things spencer does for me, it seems to me that i forget them whenever im feeling down. But he really does do so much for me and i really do know that he loves me. And im so grateful to know and to feel that love everyday. Soo tired from being grumpy haha..

November is gone...December is HERE!

I really cant believe its December...where does the time go? Well this last weekend was alot of fun...we spent alot of time with family, got our christmas decorations out, spencer fixed his dirtbike, and preston is starting to say papa. I love the holidays and I love that during the holidays I get to spend sooo much time with my hubby. It was fun while it lasted haha now I just cant wait for Christmas break! Oh and the other night were watching a little video someone made for ron and debbie of pictures of them and there were some of spencer as a baby and oh my goodness it looked soo much like preston. He is a little mini Spencer. Sooo cute!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!! This year we spent the day with Spencers Family here in the valley. We ended up not having Thanksgiving dinner untill 5:30 pm, so the whole day didnt feel like Thanksgiving at all. We just cooked and hung out at the house together until we went over to his parents. I made homemade rolls this year and i think they turned out really good! It was my first attempt at making them completely from scratch but i loved it! I felt very domestic haha. Well as soon as we got over there it felt like Thanksgiving finally, I really enjoyed spending time with everyone. I feel like im finally finding my place in his family, haha that totally sounds wierd but i feel like just one of them instead of the new girl finding my way. But anyways Preston loved everyone and everyone loved him. He had the cutest little turkey shirt...( I definantly think i cooked the cutest turkey haha! ) He tried some mashed potatoes and he was making the funniest faces haha i love watching him try new foods. Today was soo much fun and im getting really excited for Christmas...i can finally put out christmas stuff!!! Yay!

I have SOOO many things to be thankful for, but here are just a few...

1. My wonderful husband! I honestly couldnt live without him..hes my absolute everything
2. My wittle chunk (Preston) he brings soooo much joy to our little family
3. My family - Dad, Mom, Corinne & Justin, Tanner, and Court. I love them so much.
4. Spencers Family - Ron, Debbie, Danny & Alyssa, Johnny, Kristi and Tiff!!
5. The Gospel - I have such a wonderful life because of it
6. My Heavenly Father and my Savior - To whom I owe my life
7. The Book of Mormon and my Testimony
8. My home - where i can raise my little kid(s)
9. Spencers job - were so lucky to have a good job in times like these
10. All of our extended family and all our friends!

I love my family!

This last week on Wednesday me and Preston went to Show Low to visit my Mom, Tanner, and Courtney! We stayed with my Grandma and Grandpa Porter. My Grandma just had her knee replaced last week on the 10th and she is doing great! Shes still pretty much bed ridden but shes starting to be able to get up by herself and she is definantly proud of it! haha! We mostly just stayed and visited her since she was stuck home, but i had a great time. It was so nice to just relax and not have to run around so much. We did go and visit my Grandma Bigelow in Snowflake, she is doing really good as well and it was so nice to go and see her. She took us all out to lunch at Eva's and it was sooo good! On Friday I got to go and meet Brandi and Minette and their adorable little kids at Addi J's. I loved to be able to sit and visit with them, I never get to see my old friends and it made me miss them a ton. Thanks so much girls for meeting up with me!! Then on Saturday we all drove back to the valley to meet up with Corinne! We went and saw New Moon and I actually really liked it. I think it was a great improvement from the first and Preston was such a great baby through the whole thing! We also took my mom to the famous mexican place and she loved it as well. mmm mmm makes me hungry just thinking about it. haha. I honestly just love spending time with my family. And Preston just loves all of them soo much as well. I always worry that he might forget them cause we dont get to see them very often but he never does. He loves his Grandma to death and his Uncle Tanner is just soo good with him, i know preston is gonna grow up thinking he is just the coolest! I seriously cant wait untill Christmas so I can go to Utah and see them again. And most of all to see my Dad, I havent seen him since Aug. and its pretty sucky. I love him so much and I hope he knows how much we all miss him. Christmas will be the best! I was so bad at taking pics, which i never am so im pretty disappointed with myself but heres some...a couple are from my phone so they arent the greatest quality. Grandpa Porter and Preston!
