Day 28-A picture of you from last year and now-how have you changed?

Last year temple lights...

This year...my hair has blonde in it now...other then that I think I've stayed pretty much the same. I just noticed that I'm wearing the same pants and boots in these pictures haha.

Day 27-Why you are doing this 30 day challenge

I decided to do the 30 day challenge because I was beginning to get into a bloggers rut. I really didn't have much to talk about but apparently i found some more to talk about because this 30 day challenge took me like 2 months haha.

Anyways one of the cute girls in my new Beehive class offered to watch Preston for free while I finished up some Christmas shopping. How could I not take her up on that offer!? So today I ran and got some errands done...I seriously forgot how fast I could get things done without him! And then I met my sister in law at Costa Vida...YUM! Afterwords we walked around Anthropologie dreaming about the day that we would have money to actually buy something there haha! It was a fun couple of hours away...but I did miss my cutest boy! He had a lot of fun with Elle and she said he was awesome.

I just had to take a picture of Preston with his first babysitter! ( besides family ) Isn't Elle just adorable!

And for some reason Preston wont smile at the camera...he knows now that he needs to look at the camera but all I get are these straight faces. He really did love Elle :)

Temple Lights 2...

That is how much Preston LOVES Christmas lights. For family night we decided to meet Corinne and Justin at the temple to see the lights and take some pictures.

He just thought everything was sooo cool! He loved to lead the way and touch all the lights. Look how excited he is in this pic haha!

Justin, Corinne and little baby Weeks haha! Isn't she such an adorable little prego!?

My cute family...look at all those lights behind us...its seriously amazing how many lights there are around the temple. It's so beautiful.

Another family pic in front of the reflection pool :)

More Birthday Celebrations...

My birthday yesterday turned out to be a pretty wonderful day. Even though we had a few set backs...Spenc forgot that he had signed up to clean the church at 8 that morning! So no sleeping in for this birthday girl :( haha but it wasn't bad actually. Since we were already up we went to Ihop for breakfast, they used to give you a free breakfast on your birthday and now they don't. We found out after we ordered. Ya thanks Ihop. Then we went to the mall and finished our Christmas shopping and Corinne came over right after and I opened my birthday presents from her and my parents. I hadn't gotten ready yet...remember I woke up to clean haha.

Those are from my parents...the little wooden statue is of a mom and baby...it looks like my little preston...I LOVE it! And I cant wait to wear my headband in cold Utah in 2 weeks!

This cute purse is from Corinne and Justin...she remembered me liking it in a store we went too! I was so excited!

And I had Corinne open her birthday gift from us since we won't get to see her on her birthday this year :(. We got her a cute maternity shirt and skirt. The shirt looks super cute on her!

Well I got ready and me and Corinne went to eat lunch at Souper salad because we both had free lunches there for our birthdays. The food was so-so but it was free I guess. It was fun to go out just me and her! I should have taken a picture... darn it!

Then that night me and Spenc went out on a date! I can't tell you how long it has been since me and Spenc went out together. It was great to have him all to myself for a little bit. We went to the new Narnia movie, which I really liked but Spenc wasn't a huge fan. And then we met Danny and Alyssa at Grimaldys pizza ( I had a free large pizza coupon there too! ) and then we had ice cream afterwords! I failed to take a picture of our date night too. I can't believe the only pictures I took were ones where I looked like crap. I didn't take any after I got ready and looked a whole lot cuter...oh well.

And then tonight (Sunday) we went to Ron and Debbies for dinner and they made me a birthday cake! It was a lemon cake...i LOVE lemon cakes. So I kinda felt like my birthday was all weekend :) it was fun and now I'm a whopping 23 years old!

Birthday Dinner #1...

Benihanas gives out a 30.00 free birthday dinner if you sign up for their birthday club but you can only use it Mon-Thurs. I have never been there before but Spenc has and he said it was really good. So we ended up going with his parents and Danny and Alyssa. It was really good!

It was almost like a dinner and a show. They threw their knives and made a heart out of the rice haha it was really entertaining!

Ron was pretending to be the chef! haha

Preston gave me some birthday kisses!

I think this is SO adorable of Danny and Alyssa!

We just love these two...thanks for taking us out!

Me and my love...the lighting in our pic is sooo weird :(

All of us! So we just love our Preston to death but I think this is the last nice dinner we take him too...he is just a wild thing haha...we will have to start getting babysitters! The food was good and the company was great...it was a good night and a fantastic first birthday dinner haha!

Day 26-What do you think about your friends

This question is just completely stupid to me. If I didn't like my friends then they wouldn't be my friends, Right? I think my friends are awesome! No two friends are the same and I feel like I have a good diverse of people around me. I honestly wish I saw some of my friends more, its hard to grow up and people move and you have to make that extra effort to keep in touch. But I've also made some new amazing friends that I love to death too. And I'm lucky enough to have found my very BEST friend, my super hot hubby, that I get to spend every day with. Life is good! :)

YUM....

I had to teach my first lesson in the Beehive class this last Sunday. I was completely nervous, I really haven't given a lesson in years and the last one I gave was to 7 year olds. 15 Beehives plus 3 leaders is a completely different ball game. Anyways I decided that I would just win over their love with a yummy treat so that they will hopefully ignore the fact that when I'm nervous my face gets red and i sweat. Totally attractive i know...

ANYWAYS i found a recipe for Chocolate Covered Caramel Pretzel Rods.

Ya I'm not one to share something that is just So-So...these things ROCKED! Now don't be fooled thinking that they might be easy to make like I did...It was a TON of work and took me a few hours...but my Hubby says it was sooo worth it!

Since I'm totally sweet haha I'm going to share this yummy recipe with you!

Chocolate Covered Caramel Pretzel Rods

Things to get:
Pretzel rods (recipe makes about 50!)
Whole package of Chocolate candy quick (found at Wal-Mart)
Vanilla candy melts to drizzle (optional)
Caramel ingredients

First make a batch of caramel:

1c. Karo syrup
1c. Brown sugar
1c. White sugar
1 stick of butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Put first 5 ingredients in a large sauce pan over medium heat and stir until melted and combined. Bring to a boil and stir for five minutes. Be careful to keep stirring so that it doesn't start to burn on the bottom of the pan. Take caramel off the burner after 5 minutes.

Put the hot caramel in a deep container. I used my Pyrex 4 cup measuring cup.

Prepare a couple cookie sheets lined with wax paper.

Dip pretzel rod in caramel, about 3/4 of the way and let it drip off any excess caramel. Then lay the rod on the cookie sheet.

Repeat with remaining pretzels.

Put cookie sheets in the fridge to help set up caramel.

Once caramel is set, lift up each pretzel rod off the wax paper and mold caramel around the rod since it will puddle on the sides as it cools.

Prepare the cookie sheets again with new pieces of wax paper.

Melt chocolate in a deep container and dip caramel covered pretzel rods.

Place chocolate covered pretzel rods on cookie sheets and place in fridge to set up.

In a zip lock baggie, melt the vanilla candy melts in the microwave. When completely melted, cut a tiny hole in the corner and drizzle the chocolate on the rods.

Place back into the fridge to set up.
