Prestons New Room...

When we moved into our house I had decided that I just wanted to work with the colors that were already painted on our walls. I painted in the condo and it was just a lot of work and I didn't feel up to painting again. And I really didn't mind the colors that were here. I actually really liked the colors that were in our 2 spare bedrooms because they were boy colors. The room that is now Prestons new room was painted in a navy blue and a beige with white trim. Right after we moved in I found bedding that I really liked with those same colors at Target and bought it, knowing that it would be for Prestons room. So I've known for a while that his bedroom would be a car theme, luckily he turned out to LOVE cars. We also already had a Ford banner up in the room as well as our computer and desk. So after I cleared out the desk and computer and all of our stuff the room looked like this...

( I don't know why this picture has circles on it...dumb camera! )

So really all I had to do was put together his new dresser, night stand, and headboard. And then decorate! We moved in all his toys and all we have left is his clothes and shoes. And I'm not sure I'm quite ready to move that until we move him out of his crib...another big step we will need to take in the next few months! But here is the after...I like how it turned out and I loved how Preston thought it was christmas when he saw his car rug...he plays on it a TON!

The American Iron poster on his wall is actually a poster of Ron, Grandpa Coon, Spencer holding Preston, John, Grant and James and Rob and Brigham all standing by Ron's cars. Its a really fun picture and I'm so glad Preston was able to be in it and now its the perfect poster for his room! Also the Ford banner was up in Spencers room when I met him and I'm not sure how long he's had it but I love that it got passed down to Preston...makes it special :).

Now for baby girls room...I'm going to have a lot more to do in that room because I will definitely have to paint and I have nothing for it so we are starting from scratch! Wish me luck :).

Our Lives...

Wow I really haven't been a good blogger this month. But really life has been kinda boring and uneventful lately. Not to mention its 115 degrees outside and we hardly ever venture outside to do anything! So I guess I'll catch everyone up on us and then I'll try and be a better blogger for July!

Preston - He has done AWESOME at going potty now. We have a few struggles still though like 1- he likes to just take the initiative and just go without saying anything ( he is a very independent boy ) and he will try and take the potty and empty it in the toilet by himself ( missing and leaving behind little pee-pees on our toilet seat ) 2- He hates the regular toilet so whenever we leave the house and he tells me he has to go potty he is totally mad at me when I take him to the regular pottys, he won't go in them and he holds it in until we get home to his "froggy" potty and 3- If he has an accident it is always when we are out and about or honestly just in our backyard ( i think he thinks hes allowed to just go if hes outside )...I'm guessing that is pretty normal but I've been trying to think of ways we can fix that. But so far we are extremely proud and I think he is doing really great!
He is talking a LOT more. He likes to copy the last word you say and it seems like his vocab has doubled in just the last 2 weeks or so. I can't get over how cute is voice is and I'm excited for when he starts putting words together and making a little more sense haha.
He had a doctors appointment last week - we hadn't been to the doctor since last summer when he had the croup. He is way behind on his vaccines and it was time for his 2 year old check up. He weighs 28.5 lbs which is in the 50 percentile for his age and he was exactly 3 feet tall which is in the 75 percentile. He is a healthy boy! He has figured out that he doesn't like the doctors office though and pretty much screamed and cried the whole time...it was lovely. Can't wait until I have to bring 2 babies in! ( totally being sarcastic )
Preston also started swim lessons yesterday! He was SO excited to "sim" ( thats how he says it ). He started out doing really good, he liked learning how to glide and kick his little feet. But once she had him float, it was all over from there. He didn't like getting his ears in the water and was crying for me. Then she'd dip him in the water and have him grab the side of the pool and he cried the entire time. From what I've heard crying is completely normal at first so I'm not too worried. His teacher is in our ward and is completely sweet and caring and i know he's in good hands. He goes every monday and wednesday for 3 weeks and I think I'm going to have him go another 3 weeks also so he can get in lots of practice this summer. We are around the water SO much and I just want him to be comfortable. The water scares me anyways so it helps ease my mind...a tiny bit!

Spencer - He has been pretty busy lately. Besides working full time, he has been taking summer school classes. The class he's taking now ends this week and then another one starts next week right after the 4th. So he really hasn't had a break all summer which really stinks. He just found out that he can try and pass out of spanish electives if he does good on the test, he's taking the test this morning so hopefully he does good! If he does, thats 2 classes he won't have to take next year and 2 classes he won't have to pay for! Crossing my fingers he does well! He has also been studying for the LSAT. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but he switched his major and wants to go to Law School instead of Physical Therapy. He wants to stay in the real estate side of things and do Real Estate Law and keep up with regular Real Estate and Investing as well. He's a real go-getter and I really do love that about him.
He has also been out on the lake every opportunity he gets. I seriously don't think I've known someone who loves the lake and water and wakeboarding as much as he does. I have a feeling that once we have enough money to own our own boat we will be out there constantly. Luckily I like being out there ( mostly to get some sun and relax and i enjoy the company ) and Preston LOVES it ( most of the time ) hopefully baby girl will enjoy it as well!

Me - I really haven't had much going on besides my belly growing a TON. I feel like all of a sudden it got huge. I am 28 weeks on friday :) and I feel her move a TON. She is pretty wild in there but I'm honestly grateful, I love feeling her move and it eases my mind that everything is well inside that tummy of mine. My back has been hurting a LOT lately. But I've really made it a point to stop picking things up and doing too much and it has been helping. I think she is just in a weird position or something but it sure kills. Everything looked good at my last appointment and I don't think I'll be back in there for a while. I don't have maternity insurance here in Arizona and its been costing us hundreds of dollars every time I go in. I do have maternity insurance under my dad in Utah ( its a new obama thing I think, but im covered until im 26 ) So I'm actually leaving the 26th of August and me and Preston will be staying with my parents until our little girl comes :). So we will be there about a month depending on when she decides to come. We will miss Spenc and hopefully he will somehow make it in time to see our baby girl born.
Speaking of baby girl, I got Preston's new room almost completely done and we've been moving all of his stuff in there so I can start getting baby girls room done. I really like how Preston's room turned out...its a "car" theme of course. If you know Preston you definitely know how obsessed he is with cars! I will post before and after pictures soon!

And that's whats new with us! We are heading up to Flagstaff Thursday night and staying through the 4th of July. I really don't think I've ever been more excited to go there. We haven't been anywhere since new years and this heat is killing me. I cannot wait to get away!!! The whole fam will be up there and I just think we are going to have such a good time! I can't wait!

Fathers...

I really couldn't have picked anyone better to have a family with. Spencer is the best daddy to his little boy and he's really excited for our little girl on the way. I love that he wanted a family as much as I did and I love the way he puts us first. I love that I can see that sparkle in Prestons eyes when Spenc comes home and I love that Spenc has the same sparkle in his eyes to "be" home. He never fails to take care of us, he works so hard at work to be able to make enough that I can be home and he NEVER complains about me being here, he wants me here as much as I love being here. He works so hard at school and gets amazing grades. I don't think I mentioned this yet but he made the Deans list...AGAIN! For some reason I can't get the letter to upload here on the computer but he has a GPA of 3.92 for this last spring semester. We are sooooo proud of him. I love that he's an example to all those around him. He always does the right thing no matter the situation, he's been such a good influence on the way I live my life. I love that our children can always look up to him and see a completely honest and hardworking man. I love the way he plays with Preston and the way Preston copies everything Spencer does. Preston thinks the world of his daddy. Me and our kid(s) completely lucked out on having him our whole lives. Love you Spencer!

I also had to mention my Dad...the best dad I could have ever asked for. Don't you love how chubby Preston was hahahaha...this is Grandpa showing him all the animals he could hunt. :) I could go on and on about all the things I love about my dad but I want to tell you my favorite. My dad is the BEST supporter of everything us kids did. I love that my dad made it a point to come to all of my sports games and anything else that was important to me. I can't thank him enough for it. I don't think he knows how good it made me feel that he wanted to be there. I was never the best at anything, just average at about anything I did but never the less he was there and I could always hear him on the side lines routing me on and giving me advice. He'd make time to show me how to do things better and always said it in a nice way...never making me feel like an idiot haha. My dad was always there, and it meant the world to me. And I know my dad still supports me in whatever I do and I love that I can always count on him. I love you Dad and I wish we could see you more often!

This isn't the best picture but I couldn't find any right now. But I also love and adore my Father-in-Law. I've never met someone so interested in the well being of everyone. I know without a doubt that we could always count on him to help us with whatever we needed help with. He wants nothing more then to see his kids succeed and will do anything to help them along the way. I love that he always wants us around. He loves to do things with his boys and his family. I really can't thank him enough for raising such a great man ( spencer ) and for everything he has done for us thus far. We love you!

Boredom...

Wow am I going crazy. We have been stuck in our house potty training now for a full week. Its been boring, frustrating, stressful, but sometimes exciting. He is starting to get it. He goes poo-poo in his potty really good now, which I am thrilled about. Gosh that part was/is the worst, pee isn't nearly as bad to clean up. haha. But he would not for the life of him pee in his potty. I have no idea why but he would be constantly peeing his undies. Well today he finally went pee-pee in his potty! He and I were SOOO excited. I really hope that was the start of him getting the hang of it. We will see I guess...keep your fingers crossed for us!

Corinne and Kamden came over to go swimming with us the other day...doesn't he look adorable on that dolphin!!! I can't believe how big he is getting...he's 4 months old now!

And here is Preston learning how to paint for the first time. We've really had to dig in our house to find things to do...its hard being cooped up in a house day after day. I seriously can't wait until we can go out and do things again!

Crazy Jumper...

Since potty training has left us stuck at home, we've been bored and we have definitely needed little breaks from potty training as well so we've been playing in prestons pool! Today he started jumping off his little slide and making a big splash...boy did he think he was super cool! I loved the great pics we scored from todays play date haha.

I'm really loving the pool I chose for him this year...I was really debating on if I wanted something that was a little deeper but I LOVE that its more of a splash pad. I really don't have to worry about him at all and he runs and jumps and plays and loves it tons. I can actually relax, try to tan and take pictures with no worries. LOVE it!

On another note...I am 25 weeks along today with our sweet baby girl! I'm feeling rather large but other then that I am feeling pretty good. I have definitely started "nesting" and trying to reorganize rooms and I'm trying to decide how to decorate her room. There are just too many options with girls haha I love it. But here's a little peek at me today while I was playing outside...
Yes I'm really started to poke out haha! I have another appointment Tuesday so I'll probably update again then. :)

#14- Thoughts on marriage...

What is the easiest/hardest part? If you could change anything, what would it be?
Marriage is amazing. Yes at times I want to scream but I have definitely never been happier. I think the hardest thing about being married is what you have to learn about yourself. You've lived with yourself for so long that you think how you do things is the way they should be done, your priority's are how you feel they should be, and you spend  your free time and your money the way you want to. But that all changes when you have someone else to "share" it with. I've had to try and change the way I handle situations, like how I want to be a back seat driver and pick at everything when Spencer drives, I'm no professional and I totally have to remind myself that. There are things that I learned from being married that actually bother me about myself. But I actually like that...I like that I've learned how to improve ( and I'm still learning...I'm sure for forever ) things about myself. I hope Spenc has learned from me too and I hope I'm making him a better man as well!

The easiest part of marriage is actually a hard one for me to answer. I don't think I could think of one thing that would be the easiest. It's all pretty easy. I know I chose the right man for me. I love him with all my heart, even on the days he drives me crazy. It doesn't even cross my mind that I won't be with him forever. Neither him or I are even close to perfect but he is totally perfect for me. And I love the life we've shared thus far and I'm thrilled I get to have him for forever!

Sprinkler Fun...

Preston LOVES water and finds a chance to play in it everyday, no matter where we are. Even if its other peoples hoses, dog water or in this case ,luckily, just our sprinklers :)

He had a lot of fun but you can tell he's a little cold, it was later in the afternoon and the wind picked up a little.

In other news...potty training starts tomorrow! I have been wanting to start and he has shown signs of ready"ness". He'll tell me when he's poopy and wants changed and shows interest in the toilet wanting to flush and so on. But last night out of the blue he goes into the bathroom and turns on the light. I go in after him and he had his diaper off and his little seat down on the toilet and he was trying to get on the seat. I noticed below that he had already gone peepee on the floor right next to the toilet. I couldn't believe that he actually knew he had to go and went in by himself to go potty! Even though he obviously missed the toilet, I was SO PROUD. So I know he's definitely ready and we are going to go buy big boy undies and treats and stickers and we'll make a cute potty chart today! Wish us luck!
