Christmas 2012

We stayed home this year and had Christmas just as our little family until that night. It was so nice to wake up when we wanted, enjoyed breakfast and letting the kids play with their toys. Took our time to get ready and not feeling rushed to other places. This is how our Christmas's will be from now on!

The kids had a fabulous Christmas! Preston got his beloved Legos and lots of other fun stuff...

And Lylah loved all her little gifts as well!

It was a simple and perfect Christmas! Love my family SO much!!

Christmas Sunday and Christmas Eve...

I LOVE Christmas sunday. The lessons the music and the spirit it just so strong and makes me soo happy. I also love how incredibly adorable my kids look in their Sunday best...

Christmas Eve is my sisters birthday so we met up with her and her family at Ihop to celebrate and have the kids do their gift exchange before they left town!

Then that night we went over to Grant and Jills for a white elephant exchange and then we came home and opened up our pj present and got ready for bed!

I'm 25...

I had my 25 birthday this year! I felt like my birthday was dragged on for like a week...I'm SO not complaining. It was fun and I loved it. First we had the weekend in Vegas and then the monday we got back I had my sweet VT's take me out to lunch!

Then that night me and my sister went to Benihanas for our combined birthdays! It was so fun and soo yummy and so FREE!

Then the next day on my actual Birthday one of my best friends Shanna took me out to lunch! We went to Joes farm grill with our little girls in tow!

Then Spencer got me tickets to go see A Christmas Carol with him the next day!

It was a fabulous birthday!!! Love my family and friends so very much!!

Viva Las Vegas...

Spencer had a missionary companion that got married in december. We missed the wedding in Utah but made it to his open house in Las Vegas. Since it was the weekend before my birthday we made it into a birthday weekend for me. We both had never been to Vegas before so we decided to skip the shows and check out the city since we only had one night there! We stayed at the trump which was super nice, I would totally stay there again.

I had to take a picture with Bumblebee for Preston, he has been obsessed with Transformers lately!

We also stopped by Pawn Stars hoping to catch one of the stars of the show but of course we didnt! We were actually pretty disappointed, the place is tiny and half of it isnt even a pawn shop any more its filled with there memorabilia to sell.

We also decided to take his dads corvette to make the trip a little more fun, it was fun but that thing is loud! We took it by the hoover damn on the way home since we both havent ever seen that either!

It turned out to be a super fun trip that was much needed. This was the first time we left our kids overnight and it was relaxing and was so great to just spend time with each other. I just love that husband of mine!!

Temple Lights...

We LOVE going to the Temple Lights each year. Spencer's mom sings there every year so we usually always plan to go on a night that she is performing. This year we also got a couple friends and their families to go with us! It was a fun night!

Christmas Traditions...

We started some new traditions this year along with some of the ones we already started! Preston is getting older and these holiday seasons just keep getting more fun! One of our old traditions is setting up the tree right AFTER Thanksgiving. I'm a huge advocate of not setting up the tree until after Thanksgiving. I have a TON of reasons for this that I wont get into but let me just say that it drives me absolutely crazy that people do this haha! One of my pet peeves i guess...

Another one of my older traditions is putting my kids santa pictures in a picture frame ornament each year, Preston really liked looking at his pictures!

One of our new traditions was an advent calender...I put a little treat and a piece of paper for each day that including a Christmas related activity. Preston got excited about it each day so I think we will keep this going!

We also put lights on our house for the first time this year! Were going to add a little each year until it looks awesome but I was so excited about the little that we did have! I've been begging spenc to do this since we got married!

We also introduced Santas helper Dixon the Elf. Preston LOVED finding him each morning!

I also like to go and see Santa earlier in the month so I can frame their picture and look at it through the month. We always go to Bass Pro Shop!

And then we LOVE to send out Christmas cards!

One of my very favorite part of the whole season is receiving Christmas cards from friends and family...I like to tape them on my cabinets so we can see them all the time!

Family Pictures 2012...

One of my very best friends from High School offered to take some pictures for me while we were in Utah visiting my family. She did an amazing job and luckily it wasn't freezing! My mom and sister Courtney came with us to get my kids to smile, they were awesome and I really don't know if they would have smiled if they hadn't come! Get ready for a picture overload!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Whitney!!!
