FPIES...

We are finally figuring things out with our sweet Lylah girl. I took her to a Food Allergy Specialist and we are pretty certain she has " Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome ( FPIES)". So far she has had bad reactions to rice cereal, oatmeal, and puffs. Anything grainy. So she has to stay away from anything of the sort until she is tested again at 2 years old. So no cake on her first birthday, no breads or crackers. She can have only fruits, veges, potatoes, and lentils and then when she is 1 we will test her on dairy ( a lot of time dairy is a problem too ). Most of the time their allergies will go away when they are about 3 but its not always the case. It is a very rare syndrom and there aren't answers to everything and so all I can do is research and hope that hers will pass. I just feel so bad for her and wish I could make it all go away.

This was what her back looked like when they had tested her :(

I know this is a rare thing, but if you or if anyone you know has had to deal with this and has any advice I would love to hear it :).

I don't have any babies yet, but I can't eat wheat anymore so I know it sucks.

I don't know if she can have eggs or other types of bean, but there are recipes like this for people with allergies:

This is so sad! I really hope she grows out of it soon.

a lady in my ward has two children with these sorts of allergies. she cooks gluten free and casein free (no dairy) and surprisingly she doesn't struggle too much. i would have a hard time coming up with what to eat! have you tried quinoa? it is gluten free and is a grain. it is yummy! when she is one instead of milk, almond milk is a great alternative! that's what we drink most of the time. if you give her eggs only give her the yolk because the white is hard to digest and can cause tummy issues in children that are already sensitive
