My problemo...

I CAN NOT DIET.

There i said it. I seriously have a problem...I used to be able to go without food in highschool, Id eat when I had to and I think I ate better because I wanted to. Now I have to. If I ever want to be the size I was before the baby I have got to eat better! Ive gotten really good about going to the gym EVERYDAY. I will either wake up at 5:30 in the morning or ill go later that night and I really enjoy going. I love working out but I also really love food. Its driving me insane. I have lost about 10 lbs...so at least im not gaining but its not where I wanted to be right before swimsuit season! So to all you moms out there...I am desperate...what did you do to loose the baby weight?

Hey Chels, sometimes working out is great but at the same time it isn't because exercising makes our bodies want more food in order to have the energy to BE ABLE TO exercise. For me, it's easier if I do like...50+ sit ups that day and nothing more..(or something simple like that) and just cut back on portions, not having seconds, etc. Also dieting is WAAY easier if you have someone doing it with you..or a coach. So if Spencer was to do it with you or you could only have something/couldn't have something if HE says so. Just some tips though
*Drink ONLY water. Even if it's natural fruit juice..it keeps weight on--makes it harder to lose. Or if you wanted..fresh, raw milk is very healthy and contains the special vitamins and minerals needed to digest it too (the store-bought cooks them out).
*Buy LOTS of fruits and veggies and don't have snacks, ice cream, etc. IN YOUR HOME unless it's something like dried apricots, saltines..something healthier or less caloric.
*If you want to exercise, do it in the morning only and then wait a couple hours to eat anything. Exercising starts our body into fat/calorie burning mode and encourages our metabolism to get-a-going! The day hours are when we burn the most so if we work out at night...we're not going to be burning tons of fat during the night even if we're not eating.
*Meat=sparingly (yes eat it..just not too much or too often).
*Fast food/restaurant (yes even Subway)=BAD BAD BAD for dieting. The best and healthiest foods we eat are seriously homemade from scratch (not packaged/premade stuff)
*Whole grain wheat breads/cereals! (actually for breakfast,..oatmeal/cracked wheat/cream of wheat are really good and healthy vs. cold cereal=not)--when you are buying any bread or cereal, etc. from the store, look in the ingredients and make sure it says "WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR" or "WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT". If it just says wheat..it's the useless and bad part of the wheat kernel which isn't as healthy at all.

Anyway..sorry for the long epistle! haha. Good luck though! Love ya girl.

That post makes me sad! You are beautiful and look great! I understand when you become a mother your body changes. You are not a teenager anymore. With that said there are things that we do each day that promote weight loss.
#1 Eat only when your body tells you that it is hungry. Do not eat breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner if you are not hungry. Wait until you feel a hungry feeling. Embrace the true hunger sign that means you are there and listening to your body talk. It doesn't matter how much we exercise if we eat to much we won't lose anything.
#2 Stop eating when you body is comfortable. We don't want the full feeling ever. Small portions.
#3 Drink lots of water. Especially since it is getting hot.
#4 Go to bed on a slightly empty stomache. Not starving, just empty. If you go to bed a little hungry you have burned all the calories you ate. If you wake in the morning hungry, you are ready to eat a healthy breakfast and start your day.
I have found if I live by these rules I can keep my weight where I want it. I also love the way my body feels when I listen to it and eat when I am hungry and stop when I am comfortable.
I feel like after 16 years old trying to figure the weight game, I am starting to understand my body. Dieting does not work! It only make you discouraged. Eating healthy for life is what has to happen. If you want to talk to me I have some really great books that are fun and have great ideas! I would love to be your healthy eating partner! I am trying to teach my girls early so they understand their bodies in their youth. As you age what worked in the teens absolutely does not work in your 20's. Lets talk! Love ya and want to see you succeed and feel good about yourself. Jill
